Hello Installsimple,
i have a big problem with your great programm:
Problems:
Installsimple contains a Virus/Trojan!
The Virus is in the installsimple 1.80 - setup.exe
and in all of the created setup.exe files!!!
...see screenshot!

http://www.installsimple.com/forum/images/alert.jpg

The virus scanner is:
http://www.avira.com

You can find the last free version here:
http://www.computerbild.de/download/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-6666.html?dl=1

The Name of the Virus is: TR/Dropper.Gen
Details, see here:
http://www.avira.com/de/threats/section/search/index.html?q=TR%2FDropper.Gen&w=1&image2.x=7&image2.y=5

Please REMOVE THE VIRUS in Installsimple!!

Thanks for Support.
Best Regards!

Hi!
This is not the case - InstallSimple haven't any viruses or trojans.

Virus Alert may be for one reason:
The setup module of InstallSimple 1.0-1.80 packed with UPX:
http://upx.sourceforge.net/

The UPX program is also used by virus makers to make the viruses smaller. It is in no way a bad thing using the UPX Packer.

UPX is an excellent files compressor, but probably, we will stop using UPX compression in the next versions.

Hello,
many thanks for the answer.

It is fine there are no active viruses in installsimple!
(but my user phone me: there is a virus in your custom-setup.exe!)

...the problem of upx is:
Manche Antivirenprogramme behandeln laufzeitkomprimierte Programmdateien als Viren.
>> Some antivirus programs identify tackle running time compressed program files for viruses.
...see here:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/UPX

I think: ...it is better to use no UPX

Best Regards!
Frank

Hi!
The setup module now slightly updated to avoid false alerts from some virus scanners.
Please download the InstallSimple 1.80 again from our site: www.InstallSimple.com

Check your files by online antivirus scanner - www.virustotal.com
Rusults: 40 antiviruses says - "No Viruses" and only Avira AntiVir found trojan: TR/Dropper.Gen
We are sure that is a bug in Avira AntiVir scanner. And we will inform the Avira developers about it.

Thank you for interest to InstallSimple!

Best Regards,
InstallSimple developers team

It happened again! Sad
Now 12 out of 40 virus-scanners at VIRUSTOTAL mark
the "installsimple.exe" as being infected. And the "setup.exe".s I've produced as well.
You have to do something about this to keep this excellent program alive.
Pls give us an interim statement.

Thanks.

It's simple: the antivirus sees a files .exe as a malware!

I'm on version 2.9. My users complain that they get virus-warnings when downloading my Software. Sad
Try it yourself: Go to "VirusTotal.com" and have your "installsimple.exe" being tested.
Result: 3 out of 67 Virus checker find a virus. (it may not be an actual virus, but how do I explain it to the users?)

We are now in 2017 and 2.9 and STILL have that virus problem! Do I have to look for another builder?
